NEWPRO Home Solutions, New England’s #1 home remodeling company is searching for an Senior Accountant to join our team.

The Senior Accountant prepares and processes journal entries, including recurring, accruals (payroll, bonus, utilities), prepaids, and one-time entries. Responsibilities include month-end account reconciliations, variance analysis, and issue resolution. They assist with working capital activities, such as AR, AP, and inventory, and support other accounting functions as needed.

Responsibilities

• Completion of monthly journal entries for specific entities in accordance with US GAAP and to ensure month-end close is completed on schedule
• Timely completion of assigned account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies and/or escalating as needed for resolution
• Prepare supplemental spreadsheets that support month-end close
• Perform a variance analysis of actual results against budget and forecasts, as well as prior year results
• Potential involvement in daily receipts and disbursements specific to regional responsibilities
• Manage fixed assets and capital additions/disposals/depreciation to ensure compliance with company policies
• Assist in setup of inventory balances and responsible for overseeing the physical inventory process as well as performing cycle counts on a periodic basis.
• Review and analyze daily and monthly inventory reports for any possible issues which could impact plant manufacturing or accounting results
• Provide support for reporting and internal control activities to ensure integrity of financial statements
• Prepare supporting schedules for annual financial, tax, and bank audits as requested
• Back-up Accounting Specialists as needed

Qualifications

• Knowledge of US GAAP accounting practices
• Organized, detail-oriented, and the ability to have speed and accuracy when working with numbers and technical/mechanical information
• Ability to prioritize, work well under pressure and complete multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills, written and verbal
• Computer literate, including personal computer software
• Ability to handle difficult situations in a professional manner
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent preferred
• Two – four years of relevant accounting experience
• Proficient in Netsuite or similar ERP system; strong preference for candidates with CPM experience such as OneStream, Adaptive, Hyperion, Planful or similar tool
